eVisa vs Visa on Arrival vs Visa-Free: What Is the Difference?

Visa-Free

Present your passport at the border and receive an entry stamp. No prior application, no fee. Examples: UK citizens to France, Indian citizens to Thailand, US citizens to the UK.

eVisa

Apply entirely online before departure. Upload documents, pay the fee, and receive approval via email. Print or save on your phone. Examples: Indian citizens to Turkey (USD 60), UK citizens to India (USD 10-100), Pakistani citizens to UAE.

Visa on Arrival (VOA)

Obtain at the destination airport by filling out a form and paying a fee. No prior application needed, but you must have passport photos and cash in the local currency. Examples: Indian citizens to Indonesia (IDR 500,000), UK citizens to Egypt (USD 25).
